Agaric

Agaric is the name of a genus of mushrooms known as the fly agaric, though the name had also once been used to refer to tree fungus. The name comes from Latin agaricum derived from Greek agarikon, deriving its name from a town called Agaria. Though the exact meaning of the name is unclear, it could mean "tree fungus" or referring to some sort of tree fungus.
