Asa

Origin: Hebrew, Japanese, Old Norse

亜沙 (Japanese)

Meaning: a Hebrew masculine name possibly meaning "healer" or "doctor". In the Old Testament, this is the name of the third king of Judah who reversed all the mistakes and problems he inherited from the kingdom.

I've also seen it listed as a Japanese surname either meaning "morning" or "hemp", though it could also be a first name as well.

It also seems to have several meanings in different languages: a Portuguese word meaning "wing"; an Igbo Nigerian feminine name meaning "beautiful"; Asa means "hope" in Indonesian and Punjabi, as well as being a Yoruba word referring to the eagle, pronounced asha.

Asa could also be a variant form of Åsa (pronounced aw-sah), a Swedish feminine name derived from Old Norse meaning "god/goddess".

Asa is also the name of an ethnic group in Tanzania.

Asa is the name of the creator god of the Kamba people in Kenya.

It's also the a place name in Iran and Nigeria, and the names of rivers located in Japan and Kazakhstan.
