Meaning: the name of the Roman god of the sun, it means "sun" in Latin.

Sol is also the Spanish and Portuguese word for "sun".

It could also be a short form of Solomon, a Hebrew masculine name meaning "peace" from Hebrew shalom.

Sól is also the Norse goddess of the sun, the equivalent of the Germanic goddess Sunna; her name also means "sun".
